Dr. Alex Wai Ki Li is the Director for St John’s Cathedral Counselling Service. He previously worked with schools in the United Kingdom and within the National Health Service as well as in Youth Charities.

Dr. Li utilises a range of therapeutic approaches in his work such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Person-Centred Therapy and Positive Psychology to support and cater to the individual needs of clients. His specialism and interests are in anxiety and depressive disorders including Eating Disorders and Sleep Disorders. He also acts as a clinical supervisor to trainee master’s level counsellors and doctorate level psychologists from Universities in Hong Kong, Canada and Australia.

Dr. Li is passionate about working with clients from all backgrounds and has worked successfully with children, adolescents, adults and elderly populations. He has a fundamental belief in the ability for people to make meaningful changes in their lives with the right support in place and is patient as well as understanding of the obstacles that hinder progress. He works to empower clients to break free from the things that bind them from striving towards their values.

Dr. Li conducts therapy and supervision in English and Cantonese.
