Dorothy is a registered counseling psychologist specializing in working with children, emerging and midlife adults on issues related to emotional distress, personal growth and development, motivation, stress/anger management, and family/romantic relationship. She is keen on identifying clients’ strengths and eliciting their inner resources to cope with challenges and adversities in life.
Being a humanistic therapist, Dorothy is cultivated with a genuine, empathetic, open and non-judgmental attitude. She adopts an integrative approach which is based mainly on the theories of Client-centered therapy, Solution-focused Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Positive Psychology. Through the therapeutic process, clients generally gain more self-understanding and insights, increase self-awareness, and improve their emotional regulation.
In addition to counselling works, Dorothy also serves as a lecturer teaching psychology and counseling courses to undergraduate and mature students.
Dorothy conducts therapy in Cantonese and English.
