David has been a counsellor at St. John’s Cathedral Counselling Service since 2018 and earned his Master of Counselling degree from Monash University, Australia. Formerly an Olympic athlete, he also holds a Master of Fine Arts in Dance. David provides counselling to various sectors within Hong Kong’s international community including business professionals, athletes, artists, and people in the LGBTQ community. Born in Taipei and raised in New York City, David understands first-hand the multicultural challenges expatriates face. He is familiar with issues related to stress, anxiety, depression, relationships, personal growth, career planning, and other nuanced areas such as trauma, sexual orientation, and loss. David’s client-centred, humanistic approach draws from various modalities that include psychodynamic therapy, positive psychology, cognitive behavioural therapy, and mindfulness practices.
