Daniela is a clinical psychologist trained in Hong Kong, with experience working in community mental health facilities, outpatient and inpatient hospital units, private child development clinics, and academic research settings. She provides support to individuals across the lifespan who are experiencing psychological distress, including depression, anxiety, emotion dysregulation, behavioral challenges, insomnia, work/academic stress, and self-esteem issues.
As a Eurasian who has lived and studied in multiple countries, Daniela has a particular interest in working with individuals navigating life transitions, such as adapting to a new country or culture, transitioning between life stages, coping with bereavement and grief, and managing health-related challenges. Daniela adopts a person-centered, strengths-based, and culturally sensitive approach to treatment. She incorporates evidence-based interventions such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and compassion-focused therapy (CFT) to help clients achieve their therapeutic goals.
In addition, Daniela conducts developmental, diagnostic, and psychoeducational evaluations for children and adolescents. She is a strong advocate for early intervention, believing it is critical for shaping life trajectories and optimizing individual strengths to reach their full potential.
Daniela earned her bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts from The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, her master’s degrees in Psychology from The University of Hong Kong and in Early Intervention for Psychosis from King’s College London, and completed her clinical psychology training at The University of Hong Kong.
She is fluent in Cantonese, English, and Spanish.
